Drywall up and yard prepared for driveway at Home for the Holidays build

LYNCHBURG (WSLS 10) - The WSLS 10 Home for the Holidays build is moving right along.

On Wednesday, at least 20 workers were handling jobs both inside and outside the home.

Work is moving along slightly ahead of schedule as workers push toward completion of the siding and other aspects of the outside of the house.

Meanwhile, crews have dug a hole in the street so they could run new water and sewer lines into the home.

Final preparations are in place so crews from Glass and Associates can pour a new driveway.

"It's going to be a 5-inch concrete slab. 24-by-18 with the sidewalk up to the porch. Nice little area for them to park on," explained Jeremiah Calhoun, with Glass and Associates.

The home's living room features a nice view out front.

Now, the drywall is up and smooth so that the walls can be painted on Thursday.

Also, the bathtubs and showers have been installed.
