LYNCHBURG (WSLS 10) - If you thought it was tool cold to pour concrete this morning you would be wrong.
We know because they did it at the WSLS 10 Home for the Holidays project in Lynchburg.
It may have been chilly, but workers from glass and associates were there bright and early, and by this afternoon they had poured a beautiful new driveway for the home.
Jeremiah Calhoun with Glass & Associates said, "It's a blessing. I feel like it's something that's important to do. Like I said i told the people over there that I would come back and do another one anytime they need help for anything else.
Volunteers and staff from Habitat were out in chilly temperatures this morning putting on some of the final touches to the home.
Outside, the crew came with the cement mixer this morning and poured a new, two-car driveway in front of the home.
Meanwhile, the walls inside were ready for their first coat of paint and workers from James T. Davis paint and design left their normal desk jobs to pick up paint brushes and rollers.
This is an exciting stage yes. To know that the homeowners will soon be in here enjoying the beautiful finishes that are applied," said Haley Pavano with James T. Davis Paint and Design. "I love connecting with the sweet family that is so deserving. I could get teary thinking about the wonderful holiday that they're going to spend here. I think it's a great thing that we are doing."
