Suspicious letter mailed to Smyth County Courthouse

Smyth County (WSLS) Virginia State Police say a suspicious letter mailed to the Smyth County Courthouse this afternoon poses no immediate threat.

The letter was received around 1 p.m.

The letter and its contents were sent to the Virginia Department of Forensic Science in Richmond for final testing and examination.

No injuries were reported.

The incident remains under investigation.
