ROANOKE COUNTY (WSLS 10) - Roanoke County students are collecting hats for children with cancer.
Ellie's Hats collects donated hats and gives them to children with cancer. The group is based in Virginia and also raises awareness for childhood cancer.

They want the brave children to know others are thinking about them and bring a little cheer to their day.
The Hidden Valley High School advanced marketing class started collecting hats at the beginning of the school year. Students have collected more than 800 hats.
"I think it's cool that we're all coming together and we're able to do this and it means a lot from everybody and the people that have donated and helped us out," said Kerry Dooley, a senior at Hidden Valley.
The Roanoke County students set a goal of collecting one thousand hats.
You can stop by the Chickfila at Valley View Mall on Monday, December 1st if you want to donate a new or gently used hat.
