(WSLS) - In What's News Today - Wintergreen Resort has their grand opening on Friday. Folks will be able to ski and ride on five trails and go tubing. Two ski lifts will also be open as well. Additional trails are expected to open on Saturday.

While many people are taking advantage of Black Friday deals, the Roanoke Regional Chamber of Commerce is making sure you don't forget about Small Business Saturday. It begins on November 29.

The Chamber has teamed up with others in Salem, Roanoke County, Vinton and Botetourt County to push the annual event. They're even offering incentives through a passport program. If you shop at five small businesses and get your shopping passport stamped by each, you will be entered to win prizes. Residents must turn in their passport by December 4 to be entered.

Virginia Tech football will sound a little bit different after Friday night's game. After 40 years as "the voice" of the Marching Virginians halftime show Tony Distler will put down the microphone after Tech takes on UVa. Distler retired from teaching at Virginia Tech in 2004 but stayed on to lend his baritone voice for both the pregame and halftime bands at home football games. He is looking forward to doing some traveling about signing off.
