SALEM (WSLS) - The 35th annual Gem and Mineral show kicked off Saturday.
This year's event featured about 35 different vendors. They sold everything from rocks to gem necklaces.
This is the biggest fundraiser for the Roanoke Valley Mineral and Gem Society. Money from the event goes toward scholarships for Radford University students.
"Its really something special because we do have a club member that is on the staff there at Radford University. We are also raising funds for a Radford University student that would like to go into geology," Royce Wickham, an organizer, said.
The Mineral and Gem show wraps up Sunday at the Salem Civic Center.
