Lynchburg man taken to hospital in shooting incident

LYNCHBURG (WSLS 10) - A Lynchburg man was taken to the hospital Tuesday night after police say he was shot multiple times in the chest. 

The incident happened at 10:07 p.m. Tuesday, December 2 at 3526 Fort Avenue in the city of Lynchburg. 

Upon arrival, officers say they found a man , identified as Haywood Keith Payne Jr., 32, with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. 

Payne was transported to Lynchburg General Hospital and was immediately taken to surgery, police say. 

According to police, Larry Donnell Mosley, 63, was arrested and charged with malicious wounding, use of a firearm in commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
