BLAND (WSLS 10) - A herd of sheep that was lost is now found, thanks to the heroic efforts of a helping neighbor.
Bland County farmer Doug Eastep lost 170 sheep during the snowstorm last week. The animals climbed up a mountainside seeking shelter in the trees. But when they were missing for a week, Eastep worried they would starve to death.
That would mean a $40,000 loss for his family. So he called his friend Jason Groseclose who hiked up the mountain for four hours until he found them.
The sheep survived by eating tree bark on the mountainside.
