Wythe Co. crash kills two people

WYTHE COUNTY (WSLS 10) - A single-vehicle accident in Wythe County has claimed the life of two people. 

The driver, identified as Shirley Ann-Marie Davidson, 37, of Wytheville, Va., died this week, while Joseph Lee Doss, 34, of Max Meadows, passed away from his injuries over the weekend.

As we've reported, the Sheriff's Office said on Friday, February 27 at 9:25 p.m. deputies responded to the report of a single vehicle crash in the 1400 block of Grayson Turnpike (21S).  

The responding deputy observed a 2005 Mazda in a ditch. They say Davidson and Doss had been ejected from the vehicle and were both unresponsive.  

Davidson was flown from WCCH to Johnson City TN and Doss was flown from WCCH to Roanoke.  

This accident is still under investigation by The Mountain Empire Crash Team. The Mountain Empire Crash Team consists of deputies from the Smyth and Wythe County Sheriff's Offices and officers from Wytheville Police Dept.
