(Richmond-WSLS) Floyd County suffered a rare defeat at the 2A girls level to an undefeated Central-Wise team in the Region finals. After both teams won semifinal games against the East's top seeds, they meet again in the State Finals.  Senior Carley Lytton poured in 17 points for Floyd County and Ragan Wiseman added 14 of her own, but Central-Wise countered with a balanced attack. They put four players in double figures. Sophie Mullins had a double-double with 13 points and 13 boards, and a tight game down the stretch went to Central-Wise 63-59.

"That's just the sign of great team. Coming in like that. And obviously we didn't take advantage of that like we wanted to, but we gave it are all--it wasn't for a lack of trying for sure. Credit them for battling right there, and getting the lead...taking the lead right when they did, but like I said, for us to come back after that showed a lot of heart, " says Floyd County Coach Travis Cantrell.
