ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - Mountain View Humane, a local spay and neuter clinic, is working to fight cat overpopulation in Southwest Virginia.

The clinic says the surplus of feral cats is an issue all over the region. Cat overpopulation causes problems for local animal shelters. Feral cats can also spread disease.

To battle the problem, the clinic will be spay and neutering more than 350 feral cats free of charge during the month of April.
