UPDATE: The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office is investigating meth lab explosion
MONTGOMERY CO. (WSLS 10) Montgomery County Deputies are investigating a meth lab explosion.
It happened Friday, April 24, at 1960 Burkette Road in Elliston.
Deputy Robbie Hall says the explosion happened inside a bedroom.
Christopher Rogers Tatum, 37, was flown to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital with extensive burns.
Deputy Hall says search warrants were executed. The investigation found the people living in the home were manufacturing methamphetamine.
The search located numerous methamphetamine precursor chemicals and 2 one pot methamphetamine labs.
Criminal charges are pending.
