ROANOKE (WSLS 10) Hundreds laced up their shoes and filled the streets of Roanoke in pink to take part in the annual Susan G. Komen race for the cure.
Many people say they are running because they have a family, who have been impacted by breast cancer.
"It's empowering my mother passed away with breast cancer and me being a two time survivor words cant just describe the feeling of everyone coming together," Kara Campbell said.
Race officials say the goal of this was raise about $320,000.
The money raised stays in the Roanoke Valley for cancer research.
