RADFORD (WSLS 10) - Dozens came to Radford to participate in the Wounded Warrior Golf Tournament.

About 120 people came to the Pete Dye River Course, some came as far as Virginia Beach, to help raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project which helps veterans get back to civilian life.

Organizers said they raised about $10,000 last year and they hope to double that amount this year.

"I appreciate the fact that we still remember our veterans, men and women who have served this country, and hopefully tournaments like this will make it we never forget," said Wayne Zellers, an organizer.

Veterans who also attended the event said they will not forget the sacrifices soldiers made for freedom.
