State police say a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling north on I-81 when it ran off the left side of the road and struck the guardrail. Another northbound vehicle stopped in an attempt to avoid the crashed Silverado. The second vehicle was then rear-ended by the vehicle behind it sparking a four-vehicle chain reaction crash in the northbound lanes of I-81.

The last vehicle involved in the crash was a tractor-trailer pulling a cattle trailer that ended up overturning off the right side of Interstate-81.

Injuries among those involved in the crash were all minor.

Troopers say the driver of the Silverado, identified as Elisha Untiedt, 19, of Marion, Va., was not injured. He was charged with reckless driving.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, identified as Matthew J. Henderson, 31, of Chilhowie, Va., suffered minor injuries. He was charged for following too closely.

The cattle trailer was empty at the time of the crash. State police say this crash remains under investigation.
