MARTINSVILLE (WSLS 10) - The search was called off for a missing Martinsville woman after she was found Friday morning in Bassett.
Henry county deputies say 75-year-old Maxine Hariston was spotted by someone who called police. She was being checked by rescue crews and was reported to be doing well.
Henry County Deputies searched for Hariston for several days after she went missing from her Dug Mountain Road home Tuesday. The searched along Highway 58 and along U.S. Route 220 near the Martinsville Speedway.
The Henry County Sheriff's Office said more than 40 searchers were out Wednesday looking for Hairston, who was said to be afraid of storms. She was also described as an active walker and would frequently walk in areas near her home.
