BOTETOURT COUNTY (WSLS 10) - Parents of special needs children in Botetourt County Schools are continuing to fight for change.

It's a story we've been following for the past several weeks.

Jimmy Bailey says his nine-year-old son Devin came home with bruises around his eyes on May 21st.

"To this day I have no explanation," says Bailey. "Nobody has taken responsibility for this."

His parents filed a report with the Botetourt County Sheriff's Office. The report shows a teacher's aide saw Devin slam his drink on the table, the drink splashed onto his face, and Devin rubbed his eyes with the palms of his hands.

His parents believe there's more to the story.

Jimmy questioned where adults were at and why they didn't ask his son to quit. He is among a dozen other parents who have hired lawyers and wrote letters to the state.

Despite the work, parents say the school system isn't making any changes.
