ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - The Roanoke Valley Regional Center for Animal Care and Protection (RCACP) is asking pet-owners to bring animals inside during times of stormy weather.

RCACP Executive Director David Flagler said Tuesday the staff had a busy morning, trying to reunite pet-owners with their lost animals. He attributed storms Monday evening to the high call volume.

Pets may be fearful of thunder and lightening, as some are of fireworks displays. The RCACP said to bring pets inside and provide them a place where they feel safe to avoid runaways.

Information about what to do if you find a lost pet is available on RCACP's website, along with information about pets that have been lost or found by the RCACP.
