We will learn new information today in the Lyon sister's cold case. Bedford County Sheriff Mike Brown says significant developments will be revealed at a news conference today in Wheaton, Maryland. Investigators have conducted two digs on Taylor's Mountain in Bedford County looking for clues in the case. Earlier this year police named Richard and Lloyd Welch persons of interest. Another news conference will be held tomorrow in Bedford.

With the first day of school less than a month away, Shelor Motor Mile and Montgomery County Schools hold a Back to School Supply Drive. Volunteers will be at Walmart in Christiansburg from nine to one today to collect supplies that students will need this year. The goal is to make sure all students are ready to learn.

The Campbell County Public Library holds a program today on "Questions to Ask Your Doctor: How to Get the Most Out of Your Visit." A representative from Enroll Virginia will be there talking about the question to ask your physician and the information you need to take with you. It takes place at the Patrick Henry Memorial Library in Brookneal starting at 10:30 a.m.

The first phase of park designed for wheelchair bound wounded warriors and civilians will dedicated today at Kerr Lake. The Island Creek Veterans Park allows those with disabilities to use the park without barriers including fishing, pavilions and rest room facilities. Future additions include adding an accessible boat slip, nature paths that are wheel chair friendly and a children's area. The project is a partnership between the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Paralyzed Veterans of America.
