New documents surface in Jesse Matthew's capital murder case

WVIR – ALBEMARLE COUNTY (WVIR) - Search warrant details are revealing new information in Jesse Matthew's capital murder case.

Matthew has been charged with the murder of Hannah Graham who went missing from Charlottesville's Downtown Mall in the early morning of September 13, 2014. Her remains were later found on October 18, 2014, in Albemarle County. Matthew is now being tried for capital murder in the case.

Newly surfacing court documents indicate no evidence of blood was found in Matthew's car that was seized after the disappearance of University of Virginia student Hannah Graham.

The two-page filing lists a number of warrants and orders issued by Albemarle Circuit Court Judge Cheryl Higgins including one for Matthew's DNA and DNA obtained from his car.

Investigators also retrieved Matthew's and Graham's phone and various digital records as well as those of at least one more unknown third party.

Matthew is charged with capital murder in connection with Graham's death.

A motions hearing is set for August 20.
