Suspect arrested after allegedly robbing Medicap Pharmacy

ROANOKE COUNTY (WSLS 10) - A suspect is in custody after allegedly robbing the Medicap Pharmacy on Brambleton Avenue Monday afternoon.

Roanoke County police officers responded to 4375 Brambleton Ave Monday around 2:36 p.m.  It was reported that a man came into the store and demanded medication at gun point.

Pharmacy staff said they recognized the suspect as a previous customer and gave his description, as well as what he was driving.

About 30 minutes later, officers spotted the suspect's vehicle near Colonial Avenue and Electric Road. The suspect, 67-year-old James Ralph Foringer of Roanoke County, was taken into custody without incident.

Medication believed to have been taken from Medicap Pharmacy was found inside the vehicle, and a semi-automatic pistol was located on Foringer's person. He was arrested and charged with armed robbery, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and brandishing a firearm.
