FRANKLIN COUNTY (WSLS 10) - A 14-month-old is dead after deputies say the child was struck by a vehicle Tuesday on private property in Franklin County.
Captain Caldwell with the Franklin County Sheriff's Office said the incident happened along the 5300 block of Providence Church Road.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered a 14-month-old child had been hit by a vehicle. The child was pronounced dead on scene.
The incident was not criminal in nature and officials say the initial investigation shows it was a tragic accident.
Cpt. Caldwell says it was a family member who struck the child. He says the person was moving the vehicle and couldn't see the child while in the car.
Additional information is limited due to the nature of this incident and out of respect for the family, police say.
