ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - Advance Auto Parts notified employees of layoffs at its corporate offices.
Around 50 employees will be laid off in Roanoke and about 50 in Raleigh in an effort to simplify corporate functions.

According to corporate spokesperson Laurie Stacy, the cuts will eliminate duplicate functions.
Stacy also says that some departments will be consolidated. Some projects that are not helping stores will also be eliminated.
The company continues its integration of General Parts, Inc. which it bought in 2014.
