Danville woman robbed while getting into car

DANVILLE (WSLS 10) -- Danville police officers are looking for a man who they say robbed a woman on Tuesday.

Investigators say the 60-year-old victim was getting into her car in the 200 block of Nor Dan Drive when the robbery happened.

According to police, a burgundy four door pickup truck pulled up beside the woman. The driver, a black male in his 20's or 30's, got out of the car and took the woman's wallet and an unknown amount of cash. The victim didn't see a weapon, but told police it appeared the man was holding something in his hand that was covered in a zebra-print cloth. After taking the money, the thief drove away towards Arnett Boulevard.

This is the third robbery in Danville in less than 24 hours.

Police say around 9 p.m. on Monday a woman was threatened with a shotgun and robbed in the 1400 block of Blair Loop Road and around 9:30 p.m. another robbery took place in the 1300 block of Washington Street. Investigators do not believe the crimes are related.
