NBC12 – RICHMOND Va. (WWBT) - The 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has denied former Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell a rehearing for his corruption convictions.
No judge voted in favor of the rehearing. The last step for McDonnell now is to go to the U.S. Supreme Court.
McDonnell remained free while his latest appeal move was decided.
The former Republican governor, once widely considered a possible running mate to former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, was sentenced in January to two years in prison.
