ROANOKE, Va. (AP) - Appalachian Power has promoted Bradley R. Jones to oversee its hydroelectric projects in Virginia and West Virginia.

The company said Tuesday that Jones replaces the retired Frank M. Simms.

Jones had been manager of the Glen Lyn power plant in Giles County, Virginia, since 2003.

Appalachian Power says Jones also will lead other hydroelectric generation throughout the system of its parent company, American Electric Power. He'll be based in Roanoke.
