ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - New Horizons Healthcare is working to address the need for low cost dental care in the Roanoke Valley.
The organization opened a dental clinic less than a year ago that serves the under-insured and uninsured. The clinic's office manager says the staff is overwhelmed at times, trying to keep up with demand.

The office receives hundreds of phone calls each day, many from people seeking care.
At this time, the clinic has a wait list of more than 200 patients. Some of those patients will likely not be seen until October.
The clinic has even had to limit the number of new patients it accepts which is frustrating for those in need of care. It's also a big concern for the staff who know how badly some patients need treatment.
The organization hopes to expand its staff later this year to be able to take on more patients.
New Horizons is currently directing people in immediate need to other clinics in the area that could help more quickly. Bradley Free Clinic and New Horizons Healthcare offer services to the same sector of the population.
