Man charged with manslaughter for death of Virginia Tech student

BLACKSBURG (WSLS 10) - A Blacksburg man is charged with involuntary manslaughter for a deadly crash that killed a Virginia Tech student.

Brandon Scott Robinson is also charged with hit and run and reckless driving for the April crash that killed 20-year-old Haydn Woodall of Glen Allen.

According to police, the accident happened just after 2 a.m. in the Lusters Gate Road area, near Greenbrier Circle. When deputies arrived on scene, the single-vehicle was found over an embankment on its roof.

Haydn Woodall was killed on April 11 in a deadly car accident in the Lusters Gate Road area of Montgomery County.

Woodall was pronounced dead on scene, another person was transported to Carilion Roanoke Memorial by helicopter. Two other passengers and the driver received minor injuries.

Online records show a grand jury indicted Robinson on July 28. He's currently out on bond. Robinson is scheduled to be back in court on August 26.
