According to Bedford Police Department Chief Todd Foreman, a white male approached a female staff member outside of the building early Tuesday morning and threatened her with a knife.

The woman told officers the masked man forced her back inside the facility and then forced her to get another employee to unlock a medication cart.

The man was able to take an unknown amount of various medications and fled the scene on foot. No one was hurt during the incident.

Foreman tells WSLS 10 prescription medication theft in the area is not uncommon, but stealing from this type of location and using a weapon is highly unusual.

The Town of Bedford Police Department is also looking into another case of missing medication from the English Meadows Elks Home that was reported August 7 from a locked medication cart.
