ROANOKE COUNTY (WSLS 10) - A family of three is without a home after a fire damaged their single-story house Tuesday morning.

Roanoke County Fire & Rescue crews said at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 18 they were called to the 3400 block of Bunker Hill Drive for reports of a fire.

Upon arrival, firefighters saw smoke coming from the attic. Crews from the Clearbrook and Cave Spring stations had the fire knocked down in about 20 minutes.

The fire was contained to the attic space, but crews said there was considerable water damage to the first floor.

A woman and her daughter were home at the time of the fire and evacuated without any injuries, along with their dog and cat. Fire Investigators have determined that the cause of the fire is accidental and resulted from an

electrical failure in the attic.

Damage estimates are figured to be $80,000.
