HENRY COUNTY (WSLS 10) -Â Weather permitting, work to improve the intersection at Route 684 (Carver Road) and Route 58 in Henry County will result in a traffic switch during the evening of Wednesday, September 2 and Thursday morning, September 3.
The intersection is located about five miles west of Martinsville in the Carver community.

Both east and westbound traffic have currently been running in the eastbound lane separated by a curb. On September 2, the traffic will separate. The eastbound traffic will remain in its current location and the westbound traffic will be moved back over to the new westbound lane. Traffic will run in one lane in each direction.
Passing lanes will remain closed to complete the work in the median. This traffic pattern will be in place for the remainder of the project.
The speed limit is still reduced from 55MPH to 45MPH through the work zone area. It is estimated that the project will be completed in fall 2015.
