Roanoke County (WSLS) - On Saturday, authorities released the name of the victim in an ongoing assault investigation in the Bridlewood subdivision.Roanoke County Public Information Officer, Amy Whitaker, said Susan Owen, 72, of Roanoke County, died due to injuries sustained during the assault. Ms. Owen passed away Friday.
On Tuesday, September 8, officers with the Roanoke County Police Department responded to a home in the Bridlewood subdivision in reference to a well-being check. Ms. Owen was located and transported to Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Upon evaluation by medical staff, it was determined that she had serious injuries.

It is still unknown who may have committed this assault and the investigation is ongoing.
