Community celebrates fire fighters giving 65 years of service

ROANOKE COUNTY (WSLS 10)  - Firefighters in the Hollins neighborhood are celebrating 65 years of service in Roanoke County.

The community was invited to celebrate at the firehouse in Northwest Roanoke.

There were children's activities like a dunk booth and fire fighters on hand to inform children who to call in case a fire happens at their home.

"It's a great honor to be the chief of this department 65 years running we've been serving the community that long and looking forward to serving for another 65," Robert Ketchum Hollins Volunteer Fire Chief said.
