FRANKLIN COUNTY (WSLS 10) - Community members in Franklin County will have to wait before seeing major changes at green box trash sites.
The county is reducing the number of sites and each one will be manned with a set schedule. This comes after problems involving illegal dumping.

There have been some setbacks in getting the proper trucks and designing some of the sites. Some of the changes will be noticeable within a couple of months.
"This is going to be long term huge savings for the county," says Don Smith, Director of Public Works. "It's much more efficient for the county. The system we have now is not efficient. There is a lot of abuse at the green box sites, and we're going to try to correct all of that."
Last year the county spent nearly $93,000 cleaning up due to illegal dumping.
