ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - Aryah Lipford's family spoke with WSLS 10 ahead of Friday's hearing.
Warner Lovings Hunter III is charged with second-degree murder and malicious wounding. The charges stem from the July 16 shooting and death of Aryah.
"Each day we take this one at a time," said Mekeysha Lipford, Aryah's grandmother. "One day at a time cause that's all you can do. It's hard on everybody in the family."
Lipford was shot and killed in Northwest Roanoke July 16. Her mother Rachael Quesenberry was also injured but survived.
Lipford said her family members will be there in the courtroom for Aryah and wear t-shirts with her face on it.
"Our family is strong and we stick together and we mainly stick together if it's for our kids," said Lipford.
