ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - A group of Lynchburg College physical therapy students raised money for an adaptive tryke. It will be presented at R. S. Payne Elementary School during a special presentation this morning. Students will be trying out the tryke, which was also assembled by the LC students, during this presentation.

Sweet Briar College will celebrate its annual Founders' Day Friday with the traditional walk to Monument Hill to honor the Fletcher-Williams family. The College also will invest Phillip Stone as its 12th president.

Virginia Tech's fall family weekend kicks off on Friday. With the largest first-year class in Virginia Tech's history, Fall Family Weekend is on track to surpass last year's more than 4,400 attendees. One of the events includes watching the Hokies take on East Carolina University. Families will will pack the South End Zone Club Lounges at Lane Stadium to watch Virginia Tech football game on the Jumbotron.

Vegetables grown by Lord Botetourt High School FFA students will be showcased Friday. The second annual "A Taste of Botetourt" Lunch features a meal created with locally produced products. It's a way to showcase local producers with a farm to table meal.

Piedmont Arts invites you to taste the flavors of Latin America at Savory September. The party and fundraiser for the arts is being held at the museum with food and cocktails. There's also a 50/50 raffle. The raffles have raised thousands of dollars.
