DIRTY DAN RACE: Danville Parks and Recreation announced it has rescheduled The Dirty Dan race for Sunday, Oct. 18.
The race, which was scheduled to be held on Saturday, is a 3.7-mile mud run through the River District and Dan Daniel Memorial Park and along the Riverwalk Trail. This year's annual mud run will feature an all-new course with new obstacles and challenges. The race will start at 3 p.m. Registration is reopened.
LORD BOTETOURT HIGH SCHOOL SAT'S: Testing scheduled for Saturday has been postponed to October 17.

THE MET OPERA LIVE IN HD BROADCAST OF IL TROVATORE: The event scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 3, in Virginia Western's Whitman Theater has been cancelled due to weather conditions.
BRIDGEWATER PLAZA FALL FEST: Canceled due to weather, rescheduled for Saturday, October 17.
THE BIG OTTER MILL HARVEST FESTIVAL: Canceled this Saturday due to the weather. It has been rescheduled for October 10.
VIRGINIA STATE FAIR: Due to the threat of heavy rain and possible severe weather, the State Fair of Virginia will close at 7 p.m. on Oct. 1 and will not reopen for the remainder of the 2015 season.
LIBERTY CHRISTIAN ACADEMY EVENTS: Football game – Game against Maury High School will now kickoff at 4:30 pm.
Homecoming – This year's homecoming event has been postponed to Monday's volleyball game against E.C. Glass. We will conduct the ceremony in between the JV (5pm) and Varsity (6:15pm) games.
Jason Brown Award – The Jason Brown award will now be given at the October 16th football game against Fork Union Military Academy.
Alumni BBQ – This year's Alumni BBQ is canceled due to the weather. It will not be rescheduled this year.

LYNCHBURG WALK TO END ALZHEIMER'S: CANCELED (Saturday,October 3)
A Walk Ceremony & Celebration is planned for a later date. Drop any cash or check donations at the Alzheimer's Association on 10/2 between 10am and 4pm. Express drop off location (to be determined) next week.

SAINT FRANCIS SERVICE DOGS DOGTOBERFEST: Due to the weather, Dogtoberfest has been rescheduled for October 17 from 11 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.
DEVAULT FAMILY VINEYARDS 6TH ANNUAL FALL FAMILY FUN FESTIVAL: Due to the pending rainfall, DeVault Family Vineyards has postponed their 6th Annual Fall Family Fun Festival scheduled for October 3 to a date to be determined later.
BRAAC's FUNDRAISING EVENT KICKIN' IT 4 AUTISM: Due to impending weather for the weekend as well as the safety of attendees and staff, Blue Ridge Autism and Achievement has canceled Kickin' It 4 Autism - Kickball Tournament and Family Festival fundraiser event scheduled for October 3 at FYAA in Forest. The kickball tournament may be rescheduled for a later date; the family festival has been canceled.

MOVIE IN THE PARK: Lynchburg Parks and Recreation's Movie in the Park: The Princess Brideevent, originally scheduled for Friday, Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. has been rescheduled for Friday, Oct. 9 at 7:30 p.m.
WOUNDED WARRIOR SOFTBALL: Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team Rescheduled: With the impending weather and an opening in their schedule we have rescheduled this event for October 17th. Specific times are yet to be worked out but I will let you know as soon as possible.
PINK OUT: Pink Out at Northside vs Alleghany Co.
The Varsity Football game vs. Alleghany will now be played on Thursday at 7:00pm in Viking Stadium.

FALL WATERWAYS CLEANUP: Clean Valley Council has postponed the 15th annual Fall Waterways Cleanup originally scheduled for Oct. 3. The new cleanup date is Oct. 17.

OKTOBERFEST 5K TRAIL RACE/WALK: Due to inclement weather, The Willard Companies and the Smith Mountain Lake YMCA announced the cancellation of the annual Oktoberfest and 5K Trail Race/Walk scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015. The organizations are exploring options for a reschedule, but no plans are available at this time.
KENNETH MORRIS PRESENTATION AT KINGDOM LIFE MINISTRIES INTERNATIONAL : Presentation scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 4 at 4 p.m. has been canceled
