MEMPHIS (AP) - Authorities said a Memphis, Tennessee, police officer who was fatally shot Saturday had been on the force for slightly more than a year, and had a fiancee who is four months pregnant.

Terence Olridge was shot multiple times at a home in a neighborhood of single-family residences in the suburb of Cordova.

Memphis Police Director Toney Armstrong told reporters that 31-year-old Terence Olridge joined the department in September 2014.

Relatives of the officer could be seen crying outside Regional Medical Center. Armstrong says Olridge died at the hospital after being shot multiple times at a home in a neighborhood of single-family residences in the suburb of Cordova.

A man is in custody in relation to the shooting, but he has not been charged. Armstrong said the investigation is ongoing and that "details are sketchy."

Olridge is the fourth Memphis police officer to be fatally shot in slightly more than four years.
