ROANOKE COUNTY (WSLS 10) - The Roanoke County Board of Supervisors welcomed two new faces after Tuesday night's elections.
For over 20 years, Martha Hooker served as a member on the planning commission and was in education for 14 years. Now, she fills the Catawba seat for the Roanoke County Board of Supervisors.
After months of campaign planning, Hooker said she's excited to start working for the people.
"There is a lot of excitement," said Hooker. "We are humbled by the results, eager to work with the citizens of Roanoke County, eager to work with a board where there is open dialog and a good relationship between the board members."
Meanwhile, Cave Spring Supervisor Charlotte Moore, who lost her re-election bid to George Assaid by three votes, is asking for a recount.
