UNTOLD STORY OF D-DAY'S BLACK HEROES BOOK PRESENTATION
Book presentation - the Untold Story of D-Day's Black Heroes at the Harrison Museum, 6:15 p.m.
NATIONAL D-DAY MEMORIAL - BEDFORD
The National D-Day Memorial will host a special ceremony, "Honoring our Veterans", on Wednesday, November 11 at 11 a.m.
The ceremony includes music by Bedford Elementary School students, guest speakers including award winning author Alex Kershaw and World War II veteran Roger Neighborgall, a presentation of historic flags by regional JROTC groups (to include five area high schools), a Bronze Star presentation, and recognition of all veterans.
Keynote speaker will be Roger Neighborgall, a veteran of the 5th Ranger Battalion during WWII. Click here for more information.
LYNCHBURG MUSEUM FIRST FRIDAY: MILITARY ARTIFACTS FROM LOCAL VETERANS
In honor of Veterans Day on Wednesday, November 11, the Museum will display military items from Lynchburg citizens who fought in World War I, World War II, and the Vietnam War. Click here for more information.
TWIN SPRINGS VETERANS DAY PROGRAM
Twin Springs Elementary School (part of Pittsylvania County Schools, on the north side of Danville) will be honoring our veterans with a very special luncheon and program. The luncheon for veterans and their guests starts at 11:15 on Tuesday, November 10. The veterans' lunches are sponsored by the Twin Springs PTO. The program will be presented at 1:00 pm and again at 7:00 pm. (Note: This is TUESDAY, the day before the official Veterans Day.) Click here for more information.

Join the Blue Ridge Veterans Celebration for the 4th Annual Veteran Appreciation Picnic and Veterans Ceremony at the Vinton War Memorial on Sunday, November 8th from noon to 3 p.m. The picnic is free for veterans/current military and a guest with proof of military service.
