BLACKSBURG (WSLS 10) - While Game Day will not honor Virginia Tech Head Football Coach Frank Beamer with an appearance in Blacksburg at his last home game, a new restaurant says they'll step up.
Hwy 55 Burgers, Shakes & Fries, which opened its doors in Hokie Nation Monday, has declared Saturday, November 21 Frank Beamer Day.

The All-American diner will feature a hot dog, named the Beamer Frank, on his day and will donate $1 from each Beamer Frank sold to Herma's Readers.
Herma's Readers is an organization that was founded by the coach in 2008 as a tribute to his mother, an educator for 30 years. Herma's Readers promotes literacy in the Commonwealth of Virginia and has distributed more than 100,000 books to-date in order to do so.
The Beamer Frank, starting at $1.99, will feature a special team of toppings that reflect Virginia Tech colors, including pimento cheese, bacon and BBQ sauce.
Hwy 55 Burgers, Shakes & Fries in Blacksburg is located at the University Mall Shopping Center. It is the second Hwy 55 in Virginia, and the only one in Blacksburg.
