Montgomery Co. hosts holiday sneak peak for low-income shoppers

MONTGOMERY COUNTY (WSLS 10) - The Montgomery County Christmas Store will be hosting an Open House for the community on Sunday, December 6 from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 pm.

The open house will be held at the Christmas Store at 30 West Main Street in Christiansburg.

The community has been invited for a "sneak preview" before the Christmas Store opens December 8-12 for eligible low-income shoppers. The stockings are being hung, shelves are getting stocked, appointments are being scheduled and volunteers are signing up to guide shoppers.

The original founders of the Christmas Store will be recognized and honored for their contributions to the 34 successful years of the Store at 4:30 p.m.

Audrey Long, a dedicated volunteer in the Senior and Disabled Adults Department will be honored with a plaque. Long was tragically murdered last year.

Tours will be given so guests can see all the departments ready for Christmas shoppers. Light refreshments will be served.
