BLACKSBURG (WSLS 10) - Presidential candidate Donald Trump unveiled plans to halt all Muslim entry into the U.S. if he is elected.

While this has been met with cheers and resounding support, many in Southwest Virginia are calling the view extreme.

The president of the Muslim Student Association at Virginia Tech said whether it is a presidential candidate, a university president or a mayor, words matter.

He described Trump's statements as "willful ignorance."

Other local Christian pastors and university professors spoke against the proposed policy, saying it is un-American and against biblical teaching.
