Lennon took the world by storm as part of the British band named The Beatles which "invaded" America in the early 1960's.
He played various guitars with the Beatles and during his solo career, including the Rickenbacker ( four variants thereof), Epiphone Casino, and various models of Gibson and Fender guitars.
He also played the piano, on which he also composed many songs.
Lennon, who was 40 years-old at the time, was shot and killed while returning home from the recording studio with wife, Yoko Ono.
Today, Fans still mourn the death of the legendary Beatles and continue to honor his legacy even 35 years later.
