New traffic signal coming to Rt. 419, Loch Haven intersection in Roanoke Co.

ROANOKE COUNTY (WSLS 10) - A new traffic signal at the intersection of Route 419 (Electric Road) and Loch Haven Drive in Roanoke County is anticipated to be activated next week.

To alert drivers to the upcoming activation, the signal will be set to flashing on Friday, Dec. 18 sometime in the late morning.

Short-term lane closures will be in place on Friday, Dec. 18, at this intersection sometime around 9 a.m., while signal crews uncover the new signal heads.

The new signal will remain in flashing mode for approximately 72 hours.

Weather and schedule permitting, the new signal is expected to go into full operation on Monday, Dec. 21 sometime around 9 a.m.

Until the signal is activated, local police will monitor and control traffic at the intersection during the evening commute hours from 4 to 8 p.m.

 Signs will be used to notify drivers of this change in traffic patterns.

Drivers are advised to use caution.
