Crews respond to 2 Roanoke fires Saturday morning

ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - Roanoke Fire-EMS responded to two fires Saturday morning.

The first occurred at approximately 1:45 a.m. in the 2700 block of Edgewood St. The fire was under control at 2 a.m. and was found in a utility room of the home.

The two people inside were alerted to the fire by a working smoke alarm and were out of the building when firefighters arrived.

Two people are displaced and the cause is under investigation. Damages are approximately $9,000.

The second fire occurred in the 400 block of Tazewell Ave. SE. at around 5:30 a.m. This was a garage that was fully involved upon arrival.

No injuries and the cause is under investigation.
