MELFA, Va. (AP) - A federal disaster loan outreach center in Accomack County is closing this week.

The U.S. Small Business Administration's center in Melfa helps residents affected by Hurricane Sandy to complete loan applications and answers questions from affected residents and businesses.

The SBA says in a news release that the center will cease operations at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Disaster loan applications can be downloaded from www.sba.gov/disaster and mailed to the SBA. Businesses and residents also can submit applications online at the SBA's secure website, https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela .

The deadline to file applications for physical property damage and economic injury is Dec. 1, 2016.
