North Carolina woman killed in cliff fall in Virginia

ABINGDON, Va. (AP) - Police say a North Carolina woman died after she fell about 50 feet from a cliff in Virginia.

Washington County Sheriff Fred Newman told media outlets that 36-year-old Jennifer Kendall Gaydish of Asheville, North Carolina, was rappelling in the Hidden Valley Wildlife Management Area when the accident occurred Sunday afternoon.

Newman says Gaydish was pronounced dead at the scene.
