Roanoke County man receives sentence after $1 million drug bust

ROANOKE COUNTY (WSLS 10) - A Roanoke County man will spend nine months in jail after pleading no contest for his role in transporting more than a million dollars worth of marijuana.

On Monday, a Roanoke County judge found Lenard English guilty of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

In addition to serving nine months, English will also be on probation for three years and must remain drug and alcohol free during that time.

Virginia State Police arrested English and two other men back in May when they were found with 200-300 pounds of marijuana worth over $1 million.

English will begin his sentence on January 4th in Roanoke County Jail.
