Deputy plays Santa for long time store clerk

WCMH – GROVE CITY, Ohio (WCMH) – A Franklin County deputy played Santa over the weekend for a long time overnight gas station clerk.

According to a Facebook post by the Sheriff's office, a man named Jon has worked the third shift at a Grove City gas station for 17 years. In that time, he has become a friend to many deputies and Grove City officers.

Deputy Ryan Murphy found out that Jon really wanted a Play Station 4 for Christrmas and led an effort to make that wish come true.

Murphy led an effort that collected contributions from several deputies and Grove City officers, then presented the game machine to Jon over the weekend.

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office posted the following on it's facebook page with the pictures:

"The Gift: For 17 years, Jon has worked third shift at a gas station in Grove City. He's become a friend to many third-shift deputies and Grove City Police officers who patrol the area. When Deputy Ryan Murphy found out that Jon wanted a Play Station 4 for Christmas, he led an effort to make Jon's wish come true. Through contributions of numerous deputies and Grove City officers, Deputy Murphy obtained enough money to get Jon a Play Station 4, which a few of the donating officers presented to him this weekend.From left are Deputies Jason Holt, Lowell Wood, Burton Haren, Ryan Murphy and Grove City Officer Patrick Shaw.
